Growing my hair out!??!?!?

alright so ive always had long hair--down to by lower back right above my butt-- ever since i was like 4.

now i am 16 and i cant seem to grow it out! each time i think its getting longer and longer, i go in to get a trim to trim off my split ends and then end up cutting off like 2 or 3 inches ( i guess thats how much split ends i had cause i just say, cut of all the split ends) and so im trying to grow it out and i know that you have to go in and get it trimmed cuz that stimulates growth but its not working for me!

should i just not get my hair cut for a very long time--even when i get split ends? or will my hair just stop growing?/

Well You Should Make Shure You Wash It Once Every Day And Get Shapoo That Help Your Hair Growing I Had This Shampoo That Made My Hair Grow Fast And It Worked But I Dont Know What Its Called Srry But It Was In A Like Green Bottle And It Was Kinda Different The Any Other One I Have Seen Befour Hope This Helps

a hair dresser once told me that once your hair gets to a certain lengh it stops growing (for me its in the middle of my back) if i were you i would donate it to locks of love, then get a nice bob

i had that same problem with my hair and i had a friend tell me about this shampoo and conditioner called mane and tail it was made for horses origanaly but i guess now it is just for people and it works great it made my hair grow healthy and long. hope this helps

there is no need to be cutting off 2 to 3 inches for a trim. you need a new stylist. if your split ends indeed are that bad, you aren't taking very good care of your hair. stop using so much heat or get some thermal protection products. try redken antisnap leave-in conditioner to help rebuild some of your damage (it is a protein product). make sure you are using good quality professional shampoos and conditioners. the cheap stuff from wal-mart will NOT do you any good. it is full of waxes that only coat your hair and block moisture from getting into your hair. don't buy professional name brands from wal-mart or drug stores, as their quality cannot be guaranteed if purchased from these locations (they are either stolen, or outdated products). if you go beyond 6 weeks to 3 months between trims, you WILL need 2-3 inches (or more!) cut off your hair, so you won't get any growth out of it. try taking a good daily multivitamin to help your hair grow healthier.

If you have damaged hair follicles, use a deep conditioning treatment on your hair twice a week and masage it in. Layering your hair is a good idea and trimming it often will help promote healthy growth. If you hair is severly damaged

with split ends as far up as 3 inches or so from your crown the only way to help is to cut your hair into a very short style condition it well and start to re grow it, stay away from bleaches and hair dyes.
