When I cut my short it became curly/wavy and I hate it.

Cutting off your split ends will only do your hair good, trust me. Your hair won't thin out because you'll only be cutting a small length of hair from the very bottom.

It will absolutely strenghen it!
Hair just as nails are after all nothing more than dead cells!

Cutting your hair won't thin it out. It will actually help make it look more full - split ends give the illusion of thinness because they usually look scraggly. Cutting it will also remove a little extra weight, which will also help it look more full.

no, it doesn't straighten it or make it thinner if your just getting a trim.

Cutting won't make your hair more thin - but not getting rid of split ends will cause it to break and appear more thin. When you go to the salon ask for a cut that will make your hair look more full - layers might help.

It does work but not just in one time short cut my friend did it . He did from really small cut then eventually it changed to not completely straight but better

My sister has really long hair and its just amazingly straight- its in good condition too (not like wirey or limp or whatever). So it's really just a matter of what your hair is naturally like not the length!
I think your hair gets thicker the shorter you cut it, but i do know you can get different kinds of layering done, some thicken the hair others make it thinner, just ask your hairdresser to give you the right layers.

It doesn't straighten it, but if you have thick, frizzy, uncontrollable hair that came from hair dying, straightening, and products, and your natural hair is straight, then it might come out straightened. If you want to cut your hair, go for it. Split ends are horrible and slow down hair growth. So, you should cut your hair. I hope I helped.

You should definitely trim your hair!! Split ends will just keep on coming unless you cut them off! I would talk to your stylist and let him/her know how you feel and have him/her recommend something to add more body to your hair!! Cutting your hair will not make it any thinner or straighter!!! Good luck ..... getting your hair done is so much fun!!!!!

Once hair moves out of it's "root system", it is considered to be "dead"...this is why it does not hurt to cut it....but does to pull it out from the scalp...
You cannot "raise the dead" so-to-speak...cutting your hair only adds to the "look" of it...it will NOT change the hair shaft (root) itself...

Ask a stylist what hair products you can use that will work w/the hair to volumize and thicken. I know if I grow my hair out it does get wavy curls but if it is above my shoulders its pretty much straight. It depends on your genetics.

Go to a hair dresser that is very good at what they do, ask around for referrals. That way you know that they will do this right. Talk to them before they start cutting and tell them that you want your hair to be thicker and they should be able to help you. There are several techniques that they can use to make your hair appear thicker and give it more volume. Just tell them what you want and they will help you achieve that look; by cutting and by using products.
And usually, if you have some wave in your hair, cutting it only makes the wave and curl more apparant because yopur hair is now not as heavy.
